What we store
To create a chart or reading we process birth details (date, time, and place) and, if you have an account, your email. Birth details and email are personal data. We treat them as such.
The free question
A free chart or score stores nothing: the birth details you type are used to do the maths and then discarded. If you ask the free question, the answer we write is held on its own for 24 hours, with no email, no birth details and no question attached to it, so that you can ask us to send you the rest of it. If you do ask, we email your address the full answer, keep that address so we can write to you again, and delete the answer. Every email we send you carries a one-click unsubscribe, and using it stops all of them.
Someone else's birth details
A compatibility reading involves a second person's birth data. You must have their consent before entering it. We ask you to confirm this, and record that confirmation with a timestamp.
Encryption at rest
In production, Starduet runs on a managed PostgreSQL database with storage-level encryption at rest. Birth-data columns are additionally candidates for application-level encryption as a hardening step.
Your rights
From your account you can export everything we hold about you as JSON, and permanently delete your account: a true hard delete of all your birth profiles, readings, and orders.
Anonymous usage stats
To see how the site is working and where people find us, we keep a small, first-party log of key steps, such as viewing a chart or starting checkout. It records no account, no name, and no IP address. At most it notes a coarse country (worked out at our edge, never stored as an IP), whether the visit was on mobile or desktop, and the traffic source (for example a campaign tag or the site that linked you). Our hosting provider (Vercel) also counts page views for us in the same spirit: no cookies, no cross-site tracking, and nothing that identifies you, only the page, the referrer, a coarse location, and the device type. We do not use advertising trackers.
